A female poet and singer-songwriter hailing from Africa the motherland, Sampa The Great aims to inspire through music, poetry and visual art. Her music bonds from spoken-word to pure hip-hop rapping, with stops at psychedelic and bluesy waypoints in between, and draws listeners into a lush, imaginative world. Sampa’s astonishing release The Great Mixtape in October 2015 was praised across the board, and led to a nod as triple j Unearthed Feature Artist in November, and saw her recognised as the ‘Next Big Thing’ at FBi’s 2015 SMAC Awards.
